Benefits of Car Window Tint
1. Blocks Heat and Keeps Your Interior Cooler
If you constantly run your AC on full blast, your untinted windows are likely the reason. The sun heats up your interior fast, and your AC works overtime to keep up. Window tint blocks a significant amount of heat from entering your car, helping your cabin stay cooler and more comfortable.
2. Increases Privacy and Security
With untinted windows, anyone can see inside your vehicle at any time. That means people can see you, your passengers, and your belongings. Window tint adds privacy and helps protect what is inside your car from unwanted attention.
3. Enhances Your Car’s Appearance
Tinted windows instantly give your vehicle a sleek, cleaner look. It is similar to adding a stylish pair of sunglasses to your outfit. You get both improved comfort and a sharper appearance.
4. Helps Hold Glass Together if Broken
In the event of an accident, break-in, or impact, tint film can help hold the glass together instead of allowing shattered pieces to scatter inside your car. While it does not prevent the glass from breaking, it can make cleanup and repairs much easier.
The Empire Customs Window Tint Process
Tired of window tint that bubbles, turns purple, or starts peeling after a few months? So are we. That is why at Empire Customs Car Detailing, we only use high quality tint films and a precise installation process to ensure a clean, long lasting finish.
Step 1: If your vehicle already has tint, we will carefully remove the old film and clean the glass to eliminate adhesive and contaminants. Proper prep is the foundation of a flawless installation.
Step 2: We cut, heat shrink, and install the new film to match the exact shape of your windows. Most of the time spent on tinting goes into getting a perfect fit with no creases or trapped debris.
Step 3: We double check all edges, inspect the surface for contaminants, and post heat the film to ensure it bonds correctly. This prevents lifting and helps the tint cure evenly.
We use premium automotive tint that offers excellent clarity, heat rejection, and durability. This is not the cheap tint found in DIY kits. You are getting professional grade film and a professional installation.
Depending on your vehicle size, tinting can take several hours to a full day. If you combine it with detailing or additional services, the total time may be longer. We will go over all timing and details before starting the job.

My Last Tint Bubbled and Turned Purple. Will That Happen Again?
This is one of the most common issues we see. When tint turns purple or starts bubbling, it usually comes down to the quality of the film. Even if the installation was clean, low quality or very old tint will eventually fade as the dye breaks down.
We use HITEK window film, which comes with a lifetime guarantee that it will not bubble or turn purple. With proper care, it will last for many years.
Another common issue is dust, moisture, or small debris getting trapped under the film. This can come from a manufacturing defect, a crease during installation, or an unclean work environment. To avoid this, we use two dedicated areas of our shop, one for detailing and one for tint and PPF. This keeps the tinting area clean and helps us deliver a much higher quality installation.
Window Tint is a Must for Staying Cool in the Kansas City Heat
Kansas City heat can make your car feel like an oven. Ceramic tint dramatically reduces the heat inside your vehicle and is the best choice for comfort, protection, and UV defense.
This is why our most popular option is the Heat Protection Package, which includes ceramic tint on all windows, including the windshield. The windshield matters most because it is the largest source of heat entering your car. Ceramic film blocks a significant amount of that heat and keeps your interior much cooler.
Ceramic tint also helps protect children, babies, and pets. Without ceramic film, the sun penetrates the glass and heats your interior quickly, making it uncomfortable and unsafe. With ceramic tint, the cabin stays cooler and safer for everyone.
Have a Tesla You Want Tinted
Whether you drive a Tesla Model 3, Model Y, Cybertruck, or any other model, we specialize in professional Tesla window tint installation.
Tesla’s have large windshields and panoramic roofs that let in a lot of heat. If your goal is to keep the interior cool and block as much heat as possible, ceramic tint is the best choice for these windows.

How long does window tinting take?
Timing depends on several factors: removing old tint, window size, the number of windows, and whether the glass is complex. Full vehicle tinting usually takes a full day. Tinting only the front two windows typically takes a few hours.
What is the difference between a tint kit and professional tinting?
DIY tint kits are fine for beginners, but they can be frustrating and often use lower quality film. Professional tinting gives you higher grade film, a cleaner installation, and longer lasting results.
Are windows tinted on the inside or outside?
All automotive tint is installed on the inside of the glass. Any film you see on the outside is only for shaping, shrinking, or cutting during preparation.
What are the tint laws in Kansas City?
Missouri requires the front two windows to be 35% lighter. The rear passenger windows have no restrictions on rear doors and back glass.
How long will my window tint last?
Longevity depends on film quality, storage conditions, and maintenance. We use HITEK film, which carries a lifetime warranty and will not peel, bubble, fade, or discolor.
Can you tint my front windshield?
Yes. The windshield is the largest source of heat entering your vehicle. Using carbon or ceramic tint dramatically reduces heat while keeping visibility clear. We often use 75 percent ceramic film for maximum heat rejection without adding darkness.
What is the difference between tint types?
Tint shade determines darkness, but the major difference is heat rejection. Classic tint offers privacy but no heat blocking. Carbon tint provides moderate heat rejection. Ceramic tint delivers the highest level of heat reduction for maximum comfort.
When can I roll down my windows?
Wait at least 24 hours after installation before rolling your windows down. This allows the film to cure properly. In colder weather, it is safer to wait 48 hours. Rolling them down too early can shift the film or cause peeling.
Do you have to remove old tint first?
Yes. Old tint must be removed before installing new film. Sometimes it peels off easily; other times it comes off in small pieces and leaves adhesive behind. We fully clean and prepare the glass before applying new tint.
Should I install tint myself?
You can if you want to try a DIY project. Many people start with online tint kits. Just be prepared for a learning curve and results that may not match professional quality.
Will small chips in my glass affect the tint?
Small chips or cracks will not stop us from tinting your windows. However, tint can make those imperfections slightly more visible once installed.
